Sunshine Village to Parking via Monarch Viewpoint-Healy Meadows-Healy Creek 15.6km 350m/680m up/down
One-way hike; be conscious of time to get to the parking lot for the bus. Healy Creek is only the half-way point – short cut possible from Simpson Pass, exit to Healy Creek (skipping Healy Meadows).
Sunshine Villlage-Rock Isle and Garden Paths Trail 8km 150m
Includes Grizzly, Larix and Rock Isle Lakes.
Sunshine-Standish to Sunshine Lodge 6km 80m (300m down)
From top of Standish Chair. Relating to Sunshine Meadows map: 2 Standish Viewing deck loop, down to route 3 at the Twin Cairns Junction. Tak Falls to Emerald Lake via Highline Trail 12 km – 445 m
Steep with some gravel on the trail down from Yoho Pass. Can be route-finding challenges crossing the delta to Emerald Lake – several small stream crossings – keep to the right (west) to go around the west side of the lake which is faster with better trail than the east side.
Tak Falls/Iceline/Celeste Lake/Laughing Falls/Yoho Valley Loop 17 km – 850 m
This is a long/lovely hike with views of Takakkaw Falls and the Presidents. Return to parking lot along the Yoho River. Allow 5 plus hours.
Takakkaw Falls, Angel’s Staircase, Point Lace Falls: 7.5 Km, 175m
This is an opportunity to visit two waterfalls in one trip. Point Lace Falls are about 200m off the main trail along the Yoho River. One can also visit the Angel’s Staircase which is about 100m off the main trail in the opposite direction.
